This photo series shows some
of the work we recently completed t a lovely house in the Lewiston
Orchards.

The house a nice, but unremarkable deck leading to
a well kept backyard. The home-owners wanted to create of more intimate
backyard patio with a shade arbor that might offer some relief from
the relentless afternoon sun.
We offered the following idea, to create a new patio
and shade structure.

The features of this project include a new concrete
patio to coated in a field-stone pattern, and lined with hand trowelled
"bricks" which match the existing house; and painted cedar arbor
with matching screen panels to provide shade and privacy. The angular
pattern of the structure was designed to eliminate the need for supporting
post in the center of the patio, and for the entertaining shade patterns
it would create. (We also planned on coating to front entry to the
home to match.)
The following series of pictures show someof the steps,
and the finished results. Click to enlarge.
The round stairs by the small back porch are a change
from the original plan, be we think they are an awesome touch!
We would like to thank our friends Brandon Boardman

concrete. If you would like more information
