Severe
cracking and abundant spalling made this patio somewhat less
than attractive.
The
cracks in this picture have been "chased" with
the diamond chaser and filled with CR100 or CR204 Epoxy
|
 |
| The
large break in this picture was caused by a root (notice the
stump in the upper center). A combination of surface grinding,
crack repair, and grout build-up was employed to restore the
surface. |
 |
More
epoxy repair, broken piece has been removed and filled using
our Fast Patch Rapid Set mortar.
New
relief lines are cut into the surface when epoxy repair has
been completed.
|
 |
After
the surface is etched and cleaned (again!) a build-up application
of modified acrylic mortar is applied to the surface. This
coating is used to filling the voids caused by the heavy spalling
and create a tapered transition where the root had heaved part
of the slab.
This
process was repeated several times until a uniform surface
was created.
|
 |
| A
final skim coat was applied over the built-up surface. This coat
was colored Light Oxford Gray to
compliment the houses siding. |
 |
The
complex flag-stone pattern was laid-out on the surface and
a clean tile pattern applied around the border.
|
 |
| The
border area was coated in Sahara in
a spray-down application. The flag-stone area was hand-troweled
using a blend of Sahara and Desert
Beige with occasional White highlights. |
 |
The
pattern tape was pulled and all loose debris was vacuumed,
swept & blown from the surface.
As
with previous coats, control lines were re-cut into the surface.
|
 |
| This
photo -- taken in the morning -- shows the completed surface,
including two coats of DuraSeal 2000. |
 |
| This
photo, taken in the early evening, shows the pleasant contrast
of the clean, tiled border and random field-stone body of this
patio. |
 |
| Rich,
warm colors make this rejouvinated patio very appealing! |
 |
| From
a ground-squirrels perspective, this photo shows the texture
of the finished surface... can you see break line from photo
#2 above??? |
 |
This,
of course, was not the simplest project to complete, be we can't
think of a more dramatic example of the possibilities of Acrylic
Concrete Coating by Creative Services. Click
